Carleton Place – Meet me on the Mississippi!

Carleton Place is a town in Eastern Ontario, Canada in Lanark County, about 46 kilometres (29 mi) west of downtown Ottawa. It is located at the crossroads of Highway 15 and Highway 7, halfway between the towns of Perth, Almonte, Smiths Falls and the nation’s capital, Ottawa. Just minutes from highway 7 and another 15 minutes to the 417, the commute is a laid back one where the 20 minutes of uneventful highway driving will become part of your favourite unwind time. The Mississippi River, a tributary of the Ottawa River flows through the town. Carleton Place offers a retreat lifestyle where you can enjoy your surroundings with the well maintained bike paths along the river, the wonderful historic downtown commerce area, and canoe club and beach on the Mississippi to name a few of the local distractions. You will find everything you need here, from the big box stores to a wonderful variety of restaurants, and most importantly wonderful community feel of country hospitality.
